new conversations UK-Egypt

The UK-Egypt creative partnership grants were created to develop artistic practice and imaginatively test new ways of collaboration without the need for travel.

Supported by British Council, Arts Council England and FSAA, caravan and Orient Productions (EG) have supported a total of 8 creative partnerships over 2 rounds investing a total of £60,000 between Egyptian and British performing artists and companies.

The UK-Egypt creative partnership grants were created in response to the growing need for independent artists to build digital skills, foster international connections, challenge traditional ideas, and broaden opportunities to promote and sustain their work.

Accompanying the first round of creative partnership grants, we produced a webinar and resource on alternative touring models for performing arts practitioners wishing to bring their work to international audiences in the current global climate.

Our main aim is to give a greater opportunity for Egyptian and UK artists to tour internationally, generate income, and improve the recognition and visibility of their creative work beyond regional borders, thereby supporting the development of a sustainable professional contemporary arts sector in our regions. We at Orient Productions (EG) are very excited to partner with Farnham Maltings (UK) in this project that combats the challenges of international mobility, as well as supports the development of sustainable practice, skills, confidence, and innovation for creating work for online and live audiences.
