Job Description
Frequently Asked Questions about caravan assembly 2026
What do you mean by expenses? Can I include my fee?
By expenses we mean costs directly related to the presentation of your work at the caravan assembly. Please do include your fee in this. This can include any access costs for attending artists or company members, day rates, travel, accommodation and per diems.
See ITC’s suggested rates for fees and expenses in 2026/27: https://www.itc-arts.org/rates...
We are not able to cover rehearsal or remount costs, admin costs, overheads, or the cost of creating digital assets such as a full-length film or promoter packs.
Do I need to be making work at a certain scale?
No, but the scale of your work will affect the ways in which it can be shared and presented within the assembly.
Do I need to have worked internationally before?
No, but you must have the administrative and financial capacity to do so. To help you to assess your capacity, take a look at our international resources page, including an introduction to working internationally.
How many members of the company can attend the assembly events?
Two members of the company can attend the assembly events.
Does the show I propose need to be new?
No, but it must still be available for touring and not have toured or been presented extensively internationally before.
Can I premiere new work as a public performance at caravan assembly?
We imagine that the public performance work will have been presented to an audience previously. We will be looking for you to demonstrate the success of this piece and how presenting it to the assembly will help develop the internationalisation of your work.
If your piece has not been presented to an audience previously, we recommend that you apply for a pitch.
Does my pitch need to present tour-ready work?
No, we welcome applications for both ideas as well as tour-ready work. Please be clear in your application about what you are looking for from the assembly, for example, co commissioning opportunity, residency etc.
What support will I receive to deliver my pitch?
Successful pitching applications will work with our pitch curator to make the most out of your pitch through the professional development training and one to one mentoring.
Can my pitch include a demonstration?
Yes. You will work with our pitch curator to ensure you have the best approach to your pitch, if this includes a demonstration then you are more than welcome to do so, however, it is not a requirement.
What is the time commitment for the professional development programme?
The programme will consist of mentoring and a series of group sessions.
Pre-assembly
There will be 2-3 mentoring sessions per artist/company and 3-4 group training sessions around specific topics. We anticipate that most of the professional development programme will be delivered virtually.
Post-assembly
There will be a minimum of 2 mentoring sessions artist/company per year and 2-3 group training sessions over the two-year period. There will be a mix of in-person and virtual events, designed based on the needs of the cohort.
How will I access financial support for international touring post-assembly?
There will be a short application process. We will confirm all details with the selected cohort post-assembly. If you have any further questions, please join us online for an information and Q&A session at 2pm on Monday 16 June.
