caravan assembly 2026
caravan assembly is a curated gathering of performance makers, international programmers and producers.
Our ambition is to encourage dialogue, exchange, and collaboration.
caravan assembly 2026 is supporting 16 artists and companies to internationalise their practice. Encompassing theatre, dance, socially engaged, site specific, and intergenerational work, the assembly promises an eclectic array of artistic expressions that push boundaries and provoke thought.
The assembly will start at Brighton Festival, which takes place from Sunday 10 - Tuesday 12 May 2026. It is presented in partnership with Brighton Festival and British Council, and funded by Arts Council England.
Throughout the three-day event, England-based artists and companies will participate in the assembly in a range of ways including:
- Public performances
- Pitch sessions
- Talks, Q&As, panel discussions, presentations and networking opportunities.
The 2026 cohort will participate in a programme of professional development for two years following the assembly, with regular mentoring, training sessions, and networking opportunities to help build their profiles, deepen international relationships, and cultivate new, exciting opportunities for their practice.
caravan assembly serves as a platform for exceptional England-based theatre and performing arts, igniting opportunities for international connections and collaboration. Since its inception in 2008, the initiative has provided support to over 200 artists and companies, helping them to create connections that inspire and support their international ambitions.
