ThisEgg & Linzy Na Nakorn will present & Now We... at Brighton Festival in May, as part of assembly 2026. We asked them to tell us a bit more about how the show came about.

Where did the idea or inspiration come from for & Now We...?

Stemming from a question of why some places have revolutions and others don’t. It is an exploration into perspectives on protest, revolution and collective action; and approaches as to how performance inhabits public spaces.

The arc of the performance will follow the organisation and delivery of a protest or demo. & Now We… isn’t about one cause in particular, it’s about re-engaging ourselves and our feelings. About using our bodies (as well as our brains). & Now We… explores how movements begin, how they shift, how they fall apart and how they grow. It’s about people coming together and trying to keep in rhythm. It’s about what happens when they fall apart and when they grow too strong.

How would you describe & Now We... in three words?

Loud, Outdoor, Participatory.

Why are you're looking forward to pitching as part of the caravan assembly at Brighton Festival 2026?

The opportunity to pitch as part of the caravan assembly at Brighton Festival is full of possibility. We’re thrilled to be joining a group of industry from near and far, working to continue making and presenting work that might sit outside of their own immediate experiences of the world.
