News Story
On Saturday 22 June, house and caravan brought Pitch Up to Cork Midsummer Festival, featuring six Irish artists and six venue representatives from the house Southeast Theatre Network.
The event commenced with a delegates’ lunch, setting a relaxed tone for networking. Post-lunch, the 12 participants delivered concise five-minute pitches, sharing their ideas, work, and opportunities. This unique format facilitated the exchange of new concepts and fostered connections between Irish artists and Southeast England venues. The event also welcomed international delegates from the festival, the Irish Arts Council, Culture Ireland, and Embassy of Ireland representatives.
Showcasing diverse contemporary theatre ideas in development, Pitch Up highlighted the vibrant creativity emerging from Ireland and the variety of opportunities in Southeast England. The event received praise for its success and the valuable networking opportunities it created, strengthening Irish-English relationships.
The success of this first international Pitch Up event has established a strong foundation for future collaborations between house and caravan, promising ongoing creative exchange and development for the region and beyond.

A huge thank you to Culture Ireland for all their generous support and to Cork Midsummer Festival for their partnership and hospitality over the weekend.
